Welcome to Alderman Cogan’s Church of England Primary Academy.

Since joining Alderman Cogan’s CE Primary in September 2002 I have loved working here and am now very proud to be the Head of School at this exciting new chapter in the school’s history. In August 2017, we joined the Ebor Multi-Academy Trust. This has provided us with a great opportunity to share expertise and resources with a wide group of schools and we are very excited about strengthening this relationship over the coming years.

I believe that every child deserves an inspiring education in a safe, stimulating and engaging environment, which encourages independent reflection. Every child matters, every moment of every day.

At Alderman Cogan’s we deliver a creative curriculum which ignites children’s interest in the world around them, both locally and world-wide, and is underpinned with regular assessment so we know exactly how your child is progressing and what the next steps of their learning should be. We have a great team of staff and governors here. Each and every one of them has a part to play and is here because they want to make a difference. We believe every child should be valued and celebrated as an individual, as each and every one of us has something to offer and should never be afraid to fail, because that is when we learn the most.

Working closely with and supporting the local community is of great importance to us all at Alderman Cogan’s. We are a church school and Christian Values lie at the heart of what we do. We are all role models and respect for others is a fundamental life skill.  We are supplying our children with skills for life and not just for secondary school and I am passionate about making a difference.  In years to come I want our children to look back on their time at Alderman Cogan’s and be proud of their foundations.

We look forward to a successful partnership with you, and are confident that your child’s years at this school will be both happy and fulfilling.
