The staff and pupils at Alderman Cogan’s enjoy close links with St. Aidan’s Church, which is just a short walk away from the school.  Reverend Phillips visits our school regularly to lead worship and see the children and staff.  He is also a governor at our school, as are other members of the St. Aidan’s community.

The whole school attends St. Aidan’s for a beautiful candlelit Christingle service every Christmas which is always very well supported by parents and the local community.  The children in Key Stage 2 and their families celebrate their time at our school in a Leavers’ Service held at St. Aidan’s each July.  Our choir is invited to sing at the St. Aidan’s Over 55’s Club Christmas party each year.

We are very lucky that we can also visit St. Aidan’s to help support what we learn in our lessons – one example is that Rev Phillips conducts a ‘pretend’ Christening service which our children enjoy participating in.  Many of our children and parents attend services at St. Aidan’s, as well as taking part in the numerous social activities and groups that take place there.
